| Green
tree pythons (Scientific name: Morelia viridis) are
found in Irian Jaya, Papua New Guinea and on the Cape York
Peninsula of Australia. They like warm, humid conditions are are
considered to be endangered because of hunting, habitat
destruction and the skin trade.
Their
average full grown length is 1.8 metres. Whilst they are usually
a vibrant green, adults can be blue or yellow. They ground
forage at night and sleep during the day.

Wombats
are another of Australia's rather unique marsupials. There are
three types:
- The
Common Wombat (found from the Queensland/New South Wales
border down to South Australia along the coastal areas.
- Southern
Hairy-Nosed Wombat (found in South Australia and Western
Australia); and
- Northern
Hairy-Nosed Wombat (on the brink of extinction and found in
Queensland but numbers total less than 100).
Wombats are
very intelligent too. They live in burrows.
This

are everywhere in Australia but most of them seem to be
concentrated at our house! No - its just that because of the hot
and humid weather here in Queensland, we seem to see a lot
more. When we first got here we used to try and chase them
out of the house but now we just leave nature to itself.
There's just too many.
We have a
friendly little fellow who constantly sticks his head out of an
evening by crawling across our dining room windows on the
outside. He ducks back fairly quickly though.
